2.4 3D Project

One shot projects, exploring cameras as
storytelling tools in production.

MGMT - All We Ever Wanted Was Everything from oneedo on Vimeo.

A beautiful piece of motion by Ned Wenlock,
Oneedo. Here the camera pulls back throughout,
revealing elements of storytelling, some still,
some in motion. Intriguingly, where a camera
pulls back rather than forwards, poetential
for storytelling can be greater, revealing elements
rather than zooming into them.
Here is an example of the oppositie, where a
camera constantly pulls in, looking into
elements within a scene.

The Today Programme promo - Stephen Hawking from Why Not Associates on Vimeo.

Russian Ark, a seminal film exploring Russian
history, shot at the Hermitage Museum in
St. Petersberg. Using vast corridors and spaces
in the museum, this film is shot in one single
shot, tracking backwards through spaces to
reveal stories and characters, shot in a
single take.

This is a modern take on the same theme,
1917 is the year of the Russian Revolution, so
this is likely inspired by production on
Russian Ark. This film was billed as being
shot in a single take, although wikipedia
has it as two.

Motion graphics in a similar style, I love
uses ot old postcards in this music video
by Röyksopp, zooming in and out to give a
continuous story and narratives within
a narrative, within another.
